The selection of molds is important for the production of curved glass. When producing curved glass, glass is heated and softened to flow state at 1500-2000 ℃. However, the melt point of steel is 1535℃. When glass is softened, so is the steel. 

 

Graphite is one of the best materials for the production of glass molds, but the size loss and gloss during polishing is difficult to control.
