The main materials and related properties of silica brick

Silicon bricks are mainly acid refractory materials composed of scaly quartz, cristobalite, and a small amount of residual quartz and glass phases.

The silica content is above 94%. True density is 2.35g / cm3. Resistant to acid slag erosion. Higher high temperature strength. Load softening start temperature is 1620 ~ 1670 ℃. Does not deform under long-term use at high temperatures. Low thermal shock stability (1 to 4 times heat exchange in water) using natural silica as a raw material, plus an appropriate amount of mineralizer, to promote the conversion of quartz in the body into phosphorous quartz. Slowly sintered at 1350-1430 ° C in a reducing atmosphere. When heated to 1450 ° C, the total volume expansion is about 1.5 ~ 2.2%. This residual expansion will make the cuts tight, ensuring the airtightness and structural strength of the masonry.

Silicon brick characteristics:
Silica brick is an acid refractory material, which has a strong resistance to the attack of acid slag or acid solution. The higher softening temperature under load is the excellent characteristic of silicon brick, which is generally 1640-1680 ℃.

Silicon brick use:
Silicon bricks are mainly used in the carbonization chambers, combustion chambers and partition walls of coke ovens, glass pool kilns and kiln roofs, pool walls, high temperature bearing parts of hot air furnaces, glass pool kilns, pool walls, high temperature bearing parts of hot air furnaces, Thermal furnaces such as carbon roasters.
